Dr Seun Sowemimo, Neighbor

Dr. Seun Sowemimo, (Dr. Seun) is a board-certified, fellowship-trained New Jersey-based bariatric, hernia and gallbladder surgeon specializing in minimally-invasive laparoscopic surgical procedures.

He is also medical director of the Varicose Vein Center at Prime Surgicare and personally oversees a GLP-1 weight loss medication program.

His private surgical practice, Prime Surgicare, has offices in Freehold, Neptune, Toms River, Jackson and Old Bridge, NJ. He is also a partner at Central Jersey Bariatrics.

Medical and Surgical Training

Dr. Seun successfully completed surgical fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive (laparoscopic), robotic and open bariatric surgery at Yale University School of Medicine, Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, CT

He completed his general surgery internship and residency training at College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, Harlem Hospital Center, New York, where he was Chief Resident (2004 – 2005). After completing clinical clerkships at Kings College Hospital, London, Dr. Seun began his surgical training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London.
