amilies are invited to enjoy quality time together at Family Day at the Mid Island Y JCC on Thursday, December 25, 2025, from 11:00 am–2:00 pm. This fun-filled afternoon is designed for all ages and encourages families to connect through shared experiences.
Activities include arts and crafts, open swim, climb time, bounce house fun, gaga, open gym basketball, and a dedicated infant and toddler play space. The Mid Island Perk café will be open with a special offer of two slices of pizza and a small water for $6.
Admission is $5 per person or $18 per family, with free admission for Mid Island Y JCC members. Advance registration is encouraged at miyjcc.org or by calling 516-822-3535 x301. The Mid Island Y JCC is located at 45 Manetto Hill Road, Plainview.

Experienced Canasta players are invited to join Canasta Supervised Play at the Mid Island Y JCC Adult Center. This program offers a blend of instruction and guided play, allowing participants to refine strategies, learn advanced techniques, and receive real-time feedback from experienced instructors while connecting with fellow players. Beginner Canasta or equivalent experience is required.

Adults are invited to take part in the Daytime Mosaic Series at the Mid Island Y JCC Adult Center. Led by artist and instructor Kelly Schulte-Smith, this six-week creative workshop introduces mosaic artistry and techniques. Participants will create and complete their own custom mosaic house number plaque in a supportive, hands-on setting.
Classes meet Thursdays, January 15–February 26, 2026, from 10:00 am–1:00 pm (no class on February 19). Participants attend all six sessions. Space is limited and registration is required.
