Childhood group programs. Come meet Powers’ faculty and staff and try 
our group programs for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and early 
elementary! You’ll leave with a better understanding of what class is 
right for your child, and feel confident in choosing a musical path.

If any of the above sounds familiar, join us for a Chamber Music Reading Party at Powers Music School! This casual, one-time experience with chamber music will allow you to get to know other musicians in a fun, low-pressure environment. It’s a great way for students and musicians of all levels to prepare or sight-read chamber music pieces with other adults, have some refreshments, and meet other music enthusiasts.

What if I’m completely new to chamber music?
You
 are welcome to try playing with others in this encouraging space! Once 
you arrive, you’ll be assigned to a room based on the level you indicate
 on our RSVP form, so that everyone can be part of an experience that 
will work for them. In each room, we’ll all take turns playing in the 
middle and have breaks to socialize, eat, and drink.
What music will we play?
If
 you have a suggestion of what music we should read, please leave it on 
your signup form! We will send out a list of planned music prior to the 
party, in case you want to brush up on anything. We’ll also have parts 
available for anyone who needs them.
This sounds great! What if I want to keep the music going after the party?
Join our Chamber Music Program for a semester of coachings with Powers Music School faculty members! 
Auditions
 are held to make sure that students are placed in groups that will lead
 to a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for all. Our upcoming audition
 dates are: Wednesday, December 17th: 3PM—5PM Thursday, December 18th: 3PM—5PM Friday, December 19th: 3PM—5PM Wednesday, January 7th: 3PM—5PM Thursday, January 8th: 3PM—5PM Friday, January 9th: 3PM—5PM Wednesday, January 14th, 3PM—5PM Thursday, January 15th, 3PM—5PM Individuals
 can apply and attend a placement audition, after which you’ll be placed
 in a group, assigned a coach, and receive 13 weekly coachings. Students
 who know they would like to play in a group together may apply to the 
program as a group, at any time during the semester, and choose how many
 coachings they would like to receive. Since
 1975, the Stein Chamber Music Festival has welcomed students, amateurs,
 and professionals who share a love for playing music together. The 
Festival honors the memory of Joseph and Lise Stein, long-time Belmont 
residents who opened their home for joyous music-making several nights a
 week. Their contagious enthusiasm for chamber music continues to 
inspire our community, and their love of the genre lives on in this 
spectacular evening.

The Steins’ living room was set up
 with scores, stands, and pianos – always ready for music! We’ll be 
transforming the concert hall into our own “living room” to inspire the 
comfort and encouragement of an evening of chamber music at the Steins’ 
house. We hope you will create wonderful memories celebrating beautiful 
music in this welcoming setting.

The Stein Chamber 
Music Festival welcomes players of all ages and abilities, performing in
 groups of two or more players, from beginning students to amateurs and 
professionals. Each year the Festival is exciting, enjoyable, and always
 exceptional. We have had a wonderful contingent of younger performers 
in the past, and we encourage more to join in this year as well.
