An Atlanta Tradition Inviting Hundreds to Raise Their Voices
The Michael O’Neal Singers will present the 20th Annual Messiah Sing-Along, a long-standing Atlanta tradition that brings together hundreds of singers from across the region for an unforgettable community celebration. This year marks two decades of audiences gathering to sing what is widely known as the “Christmas” portion of Handel’s Messiah, featuring Part One and the iconic “Hallelujah” Chorus.
The Sing-Along experience invites participants of all ages and backgrounds to join their voices with professional vocal soloists and a chamber orchestra. No audition is required and no previous performance experience is necessary. Music is available online for preparation, and scores can be borrowed at the event, making it a wonderful opportunity for anyone to participate.
“For twenty years, this event has given Atlanta a space to share joy through music,” said Holly Mulcahy, Executive Director of The Michael O’Neal Singers. “The Sing-Along is an open invitation to experience the power of community, connection, and creativity during the holiday season.”
Artistic Director Michael O’Neal added, “The Messiah Sing-Along is a wonderful opportunity to feel the magic of collective singing. Every year I am inspired by the energy, enthusiasm, and voices of the community coming together. There is nothing like the moment when the ‘Hallelujah’ Chorus fills the hall.”
The Messiah Sing-Along is part concert, part community gathering, and part musical tradition.
