Jabari Brisport, Neighbor

Jabari Brisport is a public school teacher running for New York State Senate in the 25th District, which contains most of Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Red Hook, and other parts of Central Brooklyn. Born in Bed-Stuy and raised in Prospect Heights, Jabari is a third-generation Caribbean-American who entered politics via the Black Lives Matter and animal rights movements. He has been endorsed by the Working Families Party, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and many other progressive leaders, and would be the first openly queer person of color in the New York state legislature if elected.
