I like to laugh. I live witting people. Nothing gives me more pleasure than walking beside the bay and ocean, feeling the wind, seeing the waves and rocks, and being among the many seabirds who share Rhode Island with us. I am figurhing out how to photograph birds and other wildlife, have a house full of flowers, and plan on living the rest of my life in RI. I kayak in the warm months and will start sailing again after 28 that I spent riding horses and not sailing. I have created hundreds of videos on Youtube. I do all kinds of writing: fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.I grew up in RI and lived in many other places, primarily Minnesota, where I was a professor of social work for 36 years. I retired from paid employment in 2021, and I continue to do research, write, publish, and mentor students and colleagues who want tutorials in doing qualitative research. I have two hoses, Ellie and Finn and who are mother and son. I am so attached to them that I dream about the regularly. They are both retired at a farm in Connecticut, and I my relationship with them has changed. Hence, the dreams. I do some social service volunteering, love to cook, garden, and walk. I spend at least a month a year in Ireland. At my older age, I cherish every day. That is a feature of old age that I didn't expect, and it's wonderful.
