<p>With a nod to the past and a wink to the future from behind their sunglasses, Baltimore’s The Dirty Grass Players have been pushing the leading edge of bluegrass music since 2015. As convincing on a 10-minute jam as they are on a 2-minute classic, they find an intersection between progress and tradition that in one set could inspire Flatt &amp; Scruggs to reunite and then break up all over again. With harmonies to please any purist, compositions fresh enough to have been written tomorrow, and improvisations that fearlessly stride to the end of every limb, this band can play as clean as anybody, but isn’t afraid to get a little dirty.</p>
<p>After starting with jams between founders Ben Kolakowski (guitar) and Ryan Rogers (mandolin), DGP quickly made a name in the Baltimore scene before hitting the road. Since then, they’ve toured the US and Europe and made appearances at festivals like Grey Fox, DelFest, Dark Star Jubilee, ROMP, Bristol Rhythm &amp; Roots, and the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival. With Connor Murray on bass since 2021 and the addition of Sam Guthridge on banjo in 2024, a reinvigorated lineup is on the road and coming your way.</p>

<h4>Mirabelle Skipworth is an alt-folk songwriter living in Pittsburgh, PA, who has been playing her songs out for the past decade. Traveling around with her folk-inspired melodies sprinkled with an alt-rock tinge, her songs aim to take the audience on an emotive, dynamic, and sensitive journey. She draws from her own experiences, books, and observations.</h4>
<h4>With music already out and about (such as singles: “The Deer Song” and “Scary Story”), she is currently on the brink of releasing a new album, <strong>When The Waters Part</strong> (Feb. 13th). The album attacks themes dealing with how religion often instills a complicated relationship with love and intimacy. Recorded entirely live, the album strips these messages and the emotions that are attached to them down to their core.</h4>
<h4>Mirabelle is a community builder who regularly hosts songwriter meet-ups and events in Pittsburgh, PA, while also continually expanding her touring network. For her, music is centered around community and the inspiration that continually flows from that. In the making of her newest album, she wanted the recording process to reflect that… recorded with her closest community and captured in its most natural form.</h4>

<p>Jerron Paxton and Dennis Lichtman are world-renowned multi-instrumentalists and vocalists whose mutual love of the history, stories, and significance behind the music they play is apparent as they romp through an energetic and engaging set of acoustic blues, ragtime, Tin Pan Alley pop songs, 1920s jazz, twin fiddle hoe-downs, and original songs and compositions.</p>
<p>The duo were artists-in-residence at Symphony Space in New York City for the 2024-25 season and recently released their first full-length duo recording, Jerron Paxton &amp; Dennis Lichtman. As a soloist, Paxton is a Smithsonian Folkways recording artist, mainstay of the international blues festival circuit, and former artistic director of the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival. Lichtman is a master of the clarinet, mandolin, and fiddle whose performance and recording credits include David Byrne, Pokey LaFarge, HBO’s Succession and The Plot Against America, Jim Kweskin, and his own solo projects.</p>
