Ken Colon, Neighbor

Ken grew up in Brentwood - son of an NYPD officer and a nurse. Growing up, he saw the ways that the Town of Islip neglects its residents. Ken graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Neuroscience, going on to Syracuse and Yale to study public policy and public health. Ken has devoted his career to suicide prevention, something personal to him, and to fighting the opioid crisis ravaging our communities. He developed an app to connect college students to mental health care, managed opioid overdose policy for Montgomery County upstate, and ran youth suicide prevention data for the NYC Department of Health. Ken married the love of his life Maria, who is an ER Resident Physician. Now Ken is running for Islip Town Supervisor. He’s ready to fight for all of Islip in Town Hall - ending an era of incompetence, neglect, and corruption.
