Summer Project: Create Secret Garden, Fort, or Treehouse for Your Kids
Secret hideaways can create some of the best summer memories for kids, creating a hidden place to read a book, write secret messages, play, and imagine.

Hi everyone! Let me tell you a little about myself. I've lived in Lake County my whole life. I attended Waukegan schools and then received my Associate's degree from the College of Lake County. I also have a Bachelor's degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University. My first journalism job was at Lakeland Newspapers in Grayslake. I worked there for a year and then joined Pioneer Press newspapers, where I worked for 11 years. I've been with Patch since May 2011. I am passionate about community journalism!
