Hi everyone! Let me tell you a little about myself. I've lived in Lake County my whole life. I attended Waukegan schools and then received my Associate's degree from the College of Lake County. I also have a Bachelor's degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University. My first journalism job was at Lakeland Newspapers in Grayslake. I worked there for a year and then joined Pioneer Press newspapers, where I worked for 11 years. I've been with Patch since May 2011. I am passionate about community journalism!

Former Vernon Hills Business Owner Charged with Sex Crimes
Richard Baron, the owner of Kung Fu Power in Highland Park, which was previously located in Vernon Hills, was charged with promoting prostitution and solicitation of a sexual act, according to police.
