This Massachusetts native developed her passion for community news when she moved to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area in 2004.
After dreaming about being a journalist for several years, she enrolled in journalism school at the University of Maryland, College Park, and received a master’s degree in online journalism in 2010.
She has freelanced for The Current Newspapers, a weekly community newspaper in Washington, DC, and has written for the Capital News Service, a news wire service run by the University of Maryland, as an environment reporter.
She also has a master’s degree in architectural history from the University of Virginia, and she received her bachelor’s degree in architecture and music from Wellesley College in 2001.
