On Monday, January 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., Peggy Coburn, MPH, Administrator of McLean’s Home Care &amp; Hospice, will present “The Conversation Project” at Eno Hall, Old Court Room,&nbsp;in partnership with the Simsbury Senior Center. The Conversation Project, a national program, is a workshop that provides the confidence people need to make important medical decisions now, in the event they cannot make them in the future. The Conversation Project encourages people to talk to their families and health care providers about their wishes for care if they become seriously ill.
Ninety percent of Americans agree that it’s important to talk to their loved ones about their wishes regarding this care, yet only 30 percent actually discuss this difficult topic.&nbsp;
Members of the Town of Simsbury Senior Center and Social Services department will also be on hand to participate in the discussion and lend their expertise.
Parking is available in the lot behind Eno Hall, 754 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury. The event takes place in the Old Court Room on the lower level of Eno Hall. Space is limited and an RSVP is recommended to 860-658-3273 or <a href="mailto:khaberlin@simsbury-ct.gov">khaberlin@simsbury-ct.gov</a>.

Simsbury Public Library

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.,&nbsp;members of the McLean Home Care &amp; Hospice team and the Town of Simsbury Senior and Social Services will be at the Simsbury Public Library to present “The Sandwich Generation: Addressing the Demands of Multigenerational Care.” 
Nearly half of adults in their 40s and 50s are helping their parents navigate getting older – all while working and caring for younger family members at home. This workshop-style presentation is designed to support those caring for, or concerned about, aging parents. Participants will gain practical strategies for having sensitive conversations, discerning when to step in and when to step back, and exploring care options and community resources for aging parents. 
Parking is available at the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury. The event will take place in the FSPL Program Room. The event is co-sponsored by the Simsbury Public Library, the Simsbury Senior Center, is free but requires an RSVP to 860-658-3273 or <a href="mailto:khaberlin@simsbury-ct.gov">khaberlin@simsbury-ct.gov</a>. Light refreshments will be served.&nbsp;
