The Schingoethe Center seeks to foster inquiry, celebrate artistic excellence, preserve and perpetuate Native American cultures, and inspire a lifelong engagement with the visual arts. The Center combines the former Schingoethe Native American museum and the Schingoethe Art Gallery in our new state-of-the-art facility. The Schingoethe Center was established on the Aurora University campus in 1990 through the generosity of Martha and Herb Schingoethe.

Exhibitions are enhanced by Schingoethe programming. The Center invites authors, scholars, artists, and cultural experts to present on a variety of topics. These programs and exhibits are offered free to the public.
