Chelsea Chen’s dynamic playing has taken her to the far corners of the world. Her solo concerts offer a unique mix of traditional organ repertoire along with piano/orchestral transcriptions and contemporary music. The Los Angeles Times has praised her “rare musicality” and “lovely lyrical grandeur,” and a compositional style that is “charming” and “irresistible.” Chelsea will perform her own composition, Taiwanese Suite, which has become an audience favorite all over the world, as well as a new work called Children’s Dances, based on Chinese and Taiwanese songs.

The first Moravian missionaries arrived in America in the 1730s, bringing with them their vision of Christian believers living together in peace and unity. They celebrated special occasions by sharing with friends a simple meal – a “Lovefeast.” Today, the Lovefeast is a service of song, in which music, for voices and instruments, gives the themes for praise and prayer. The Chancel Choir, joined by string quartet, will offer music from the Moravian tradition. Hot drinks and sweet rolls will be served.

Music from the American Moravian tradition by Johann Friedrich Peter and John Antes. The string trios by Antes are among the earliest examples of concert music written in the United States. This event is free and open to the public.

Come to&nbsp;rediscover&nbsp;the lives of the “Kindred Minds” who weathered the divisiveness of the&nbsp;American Revolution&nbsp;250 years ago. &nbsp;February 4 will&nbsp;premier&nbsp;the&nbsp;digital version of&nbsp;E.&nbsp;Deane Turner’s&nbsp;A History of the Brick Presbyterian Church in the City of New York: A Fellowship of Kindred Minds. &nbsp;

Watson Hall will be transformed into a&nbsp;dynamic&nbsp;space&nbsp;-&nbsp;part lecture hall,&nbsp;part&nbsp;historical&nbsp;exhibition&nbsp;and part digital slideshow,&nbsp;featuring George Washington’s thank you letter to Rev. John Rodgers and cameos of “Kindred Minds.” &nbsp;Join&nbsp;our neighborhood community, longtime members, and those new to our congregation.&nbsp;The Patriots and Loyalists of 1776 show how our legacy shapes the present and our hopes for&nbsp;the&nbsp;future together. &nbsp;
