Hometown: Manayunk
Birthday: March 11, 1981
Bio: Mischa Arnosky graduated from Shippensburg University in 2004 with degrees in journalism and public relations. He is also an Abington Senior High School graduate and has covered the area for several years with other media.
More than just covering the area, Mischa lived in the township up until 2007; he still has family and many friends there.
When Mischa's not at his home in Manayunk, he's usually in his car, driving around Abington Township, looking for interesting pieces to write about.
Mischa is married, and when he is not writing about Abington, or covering something there, he is usually playing the piano, playing the guitar or washing his car.
Politics:
I am a registered Democrat, though I don't follow party lines on every issue — and I don't think anyone else should, either. I feel very strongly about freedom of speech; I am terrified of censorship in any media.
Religion:
I would not consider myself a religious person, however I respect every religion.
The hot-button issues in Abington are similar to those in many other suburban communities. The issue of increasing school property taxes is always popping up, but by the same token, the township has award-winning schools. The other issue is development. While having a broader tax base is important, I feel the township should purchase as much open space as it can get its hands on.
