Pete Smith, Neighbor

Pete is Milford's 42 City Clerk; Robert Treat was the first Clerk of Milford. All democratic forms of government, since the oldest times, have included a position as Town Clerk. One of its core purposes continues to be to safeguard the integrity of governmental processes.

Pete was Alberta Jagoe's Assistant Mayor, from 1986 to 1988, then served Milford as State Representative from 1988 to 1992. He spent the last 36 years working in and around our state government, returning back to Milford this year to fill the vacancy left by Karen Fortunati's departure from the Office of City Clerk.
