The DiMenna Center for Classical Music

Encompassing all of ACO's composer advancement initiatives, EarShot is the first ongoing, systematic program for developing relationships between composers and orchestras on the national level. Currently celebrating its 49th season, American Composers Orchestra presents this showcase as a preview of its landmark 50th anniversary, which will see signature events and performances throughout the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 seasons. The program, conducted by Mélisse Brunet, features new works by Joseph Sowa, Chelsea Komschlies, Marina López, Sepehr Pirasteh, Iván Enrique Rodríguez, and Patricia Leonard.

YCA on Tour offers audiences a truly remarkable musical experience: drawing on the incredible talent of artists in the YCA family, this extraordinary chamber ensemble performs repertoire in unique instrumentation that spans a rarely-heard range of musical styles and genres.
Thoughtfully designed to highlight the strengths and individuality of each performer, the season’s program features music for strings in a dynamic collaboration that brings together current YCA artists Risa Hokomura, Oliver Neubauer, Benett Tsai and James Baik with esteemed alumnus Toby Appel.

Jessie Montgomery – the visionary Grammy Award-winning violinist and composer “making sparks fly” (The New York Times) – joins us for a dynamic collaboration with the Grammy-winning Third Coast Percussion (TCP) and phenom electronic music composer Jlin.
Their spellbinding program showcases Montgomery first as composer, with TCP performing a transcription of a suite from her In Color, then as violin soloist, performing Lou Harrison’s tour-de-force violin and percussion concerto inspired by the Javanese gamelan. The concert concludes with a world premiere by Jlin, whose music has been called “the sound of a far out utopia” (Clash Music). The work is written for and performed by TCP, with Jlin creating mind-blowing music mixes in real time. A must-experience event by artists reimagining what a live classical concert can be.
