Gurwin Healthcare System provides health care and senior living options for individuals on Long Island. Long-term skilled nursing care and short-term rehabilitation are provided in the 5-star, 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and include such specialty services as ventilator care and palliative and hospice care. Outreach programs include two home care programs; social and medical adult day health programs offered six days a week; and an on-site dialysis center serving both participants in Gurwin programs as well as members of the local community. A 201-apartment assisted living community, the Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences, shares the 36-acre campus, and construction is currently underway for Gurwin’s newest venture to serve Long Island's senior population: Fountaingate Gardens. The addition of this new 129-luxury independent living community creates a Life Plan Community, also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community, on Gurwin's Commack campus.
