Celebrate the holidays with The Hot Licks and The Christmas Jug Band for a rolicking good show! The Hot Licks, original members of Dan Hicks’ backing band, perform Dan’s classic songs in the Folk-Swing style that Dan Hicks invented – a blend of Gypsy Jazz, Folk and Swing with lots of vocal harmonies.The Hot Licks carry the torch for Folk-Swing with his signature style that has inspired so many others. They team up with perennial favorite The Christmas Jug Band (of which Dan Hicks was also a member), “the kings of 100 percent acoustic folk-skiffle-swing holiday high jinks.” 
Some of the Bay Area’s finest musicians, they perform on washboard, drums, guitars, percussion, kazoos, slide whistles, jaw harp, washtub bass, jug, accordions, autoharp, harmonica, piano, tenor sax, soprano sax, alto sax, baritone sax, clarinet, chromatic harmonica, recorder, trumpet and mandolin.

The Marcus Shelby Orchestra will perform the magical “Harlem Nutcracker Suite” by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, which is a masterpiece musical re-arrangement and orchestration of the well-known “Nutcracker” by classical composer Peter Tchaikovsky. Marcus Shelby and his orchestra performed the “Harlem Nutcracker Suite” for the first time, last year in Healdsburg and for the past decade at SFJAZZ. The music is wonderful and exciting for audiences of all ages, who will recognize many of the enduring themes from the original “Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky, using the blues and swing as the vehicle for the music. There are nine sections that explore the range and tonal diversity of the big band orchestra. Although specifically written for the holiday season, the music has the energy, power, and joyfulness that could allow the suite to be played anytime of the year. 
The second half of this special holiday concert features celebrated Bay Area vocalist Tiffany Austin with the Marcus Shelby Orchestra, performing a program of Christmas songs, spirituals, and various traditional songs re-arranged from around the world. This portion of the concert includes poetry, a slide show, and other holiday surprises. 
Our annual Healdsburg Jazz Holiday Concert also includes a toy drive, so bring a small gift, or book, or toy that we will deliver to our local partners.

The Raven’s 2025 New Year’s Eve show brings the SF Comedy Competition back for another hilarious New Year’s, headlined by Shawn Felipe, winner of the 2025 competition. Openers for the show are two finalists, runner-up CJ Koepp and finalist Dan Aguinaga. The SF Comedy Competion is celebrating 49 years of bringing rising stars to a wide audience. Join us for a New Year’s that stand-up comedy lovers won’t want to miss!
About Shawn Felipe: His ability to blend family-friendly humor with sharp wit has clearly resonated with audiences across various platforms. Winning the 2025 San Francisco International Comedy Competition is a huge achievement, especially considering its reputation as a prestigious event in stand-up comedy. Performing at over 200 colleges and universities is no small feat, and it speaks volumes about his ability to connect with younger audiences. His dedication to entertaining U.S. military personnel and cruise line passengers further highlights his commitment to bringing joy to diverse groups of people. See clip below.
About CJ Koepp: Wisconsin-raised, Oakland-based comedian, writer, artist, and climate activist who specializes in “dark woke.” She took this year’s 49th San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition by storm, placing second in a close finish. In addition to stand-up comedy, she writes for Reductress, was awarded the 2024 Diversity in Comedy Writing Fellowship at Killing My Lobster SF, and has been arrested twice (so far). See clip below.
About Dan Aguinaga: Dan is a comedian, writer, and father who has a penchant for tackling dark and taboo subjects with tight writing and a dynamic stage presence that not only makes it work, but makes it kill. He was a finalist in the 2024 San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and winner of the 2023 Rooster T Feathers New Talent Showcase. He is a regular at The San Francisco Punch Line, Cobbs Comedy Club, and San Jose Improv. See clip below.
About Emcee K. Cheng: K. Cheng has appeared at the Comedy Cellar, the Comedy Store, and Gotham’s Comedy Club… not to perform, he’s just appeared there. He has, however, performed at NBC Stand Up for Diversity, EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival), and San Francisco Sketchfest. He’s the producer of Crazy Funny Asians, Cosplay Comedy, The Khmers of Comedy, and Cardi Spelling Bee. He’s also a contributor to The Lunar Times, From the Desk of Nerd Legion, and The 1990 Institute. He is a guest lecturer on comedy at St. Mary’s College and Mills College.
