The Kender Academy of Irish Dance is a competitive and Performance based Irish Dance School. Classes are taught by a former competitive, Professional, and certified Irish Dance Teacher - Rebecca Kender-Rocha TCRG.

We offer classes for the whole family!

-Jump'n Jig is our preschool program for boys and girls ages 2-4. We are currently the only school on Long Island offering the Jump'n Jig Curriculum. Together we will jump, dance, and play the Irish Way! In this class we will explore Irish Music, different ways of jumping, and the core components of dance with fun songs and props! Within the Jump'n Jig program, we have classes that are caregiver & me style and independent classes based on age and experience.

-Beginner Class- open to Boys & Girls ages 5+. In this class we will learn the basics of Irish Dance, be introduced to Irish Music, build on different dance techniques, and make new friendships!

- Advanced Beginner - Championship Level classes - for dancers who graduate from the beginner level and move up through the grade levels of Irish Dancing.

-Adult Classes- Our Adult Class is perfect for adult dancers looking to try Irish Dance for the first time or dancers who are looking to return to the artform after a few years away. Our Adult Class is very welcoming and filled with great energy! No experience is necessary. Not only is this a great workout added to your week but a chance to connect with other adults who share your interests.

-Retired Not Tired - This class is for recently Retired Competitive Irish Dancers who wish to continue dancing without the pressure to compete. It's a great way to stay in touch with all your dance friends, try new dance challenges and new choreography!

Our school is registered with CLRG (The Irish Dance Commission) which allows our dancers to compete at local feiseanna, as well as regional, national, and international competitions. We encourage feiseanna but do not require it.

Our dancers also have the opportunity to perform at local performances throughout the year. Especially during St. Patrick's Season! We then end our year with an End of Year Showcase & Party - our version of a recital, except everyone gets to dance to the DJ, learn a Ceili dance, eat some food, and enjoy performances by dancers in all our classes!
