Join us to celebrate the Winter Solstice in a wonderland of hiking, crafting, and playing games!
Our Powisset Pals will enjoy a guided hike along our StoryWalk. To warm up after the hike, we will head into the Powisset Kitchen to create a solstice inspired craft and play a “Snow Shovel” competition game.
This is a family program designed for children ages 5-11. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required. Minimum of 8 participants required for class to take place.

Get into the holiday spirit with this festive baking class featuring a beautiful and tasty Cranberry Cake as well as Frosted Maple Butter Cookies.
Budding bakers will join Chef Camryn as she shares some of her favorite holiday recipes in the Powisset Farm kitchen. We will use local ingredients sourced from our farm whenever possible. This hands-on class is designed to be fun and creative, with plenty of time to experiment with different cookie-decorating techniques.

Great Grains and Roasted Roots – Adult Cooking Class

Sourdough is one of the oldest forms of bread; in fact, it was the traditional breadmaking method for most of human history. Special guest chef Clarisse Maugis will ensure your success in this hands-on class, where you’ll learn to make a simple sourdough bread using staple pantry ingredients. C’est Magnifique!
Chef Clarisse is from the countryside north of Paris, where she grew up cooking beside her mother and grandmother. After earning a degree in hospitality, apprenticing in Michelin 3-star restaurants, learning from a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and working in fine dining kitchens in France and St. Barth’s, she moved to the U.S. to learn to speak English. Chef Clarisse says, “French cooking is not difficult! Anyone can learn the techniques. All we need is to put our heart into it!”

The light of the full moon provides a mysterious and magical way to experience nature and the outdoors, including our upcoming Full Moon Hike on January 13!
Start 2026 at Powisset Farm with this unique guided hiking experience. The farm will be open after hours for you to enjoy a tranquil evening walk under a full moon as it waxes or wanes. Your guide will lead you along the farm trails as we take in views of the night sky and share an informal discussion about the traditional significance of January’s Wolf Moon.
Please note, although we love our four-legged friends, dogs are not allowed at Powisset Farm.

We’ll make local fish chowder with kale and root vegetables, vegan mushroom and potato chowder, and sop it up with homemade brown bread with herb butter. Perfect for cold days and cozy nights!

Spring into spring! In this hands-on cooking class, you’ll use the bright flavors of the season to make delicious flatbreads....

Turn up the charm in the kitchen this spring! In this hands-on cooking class, you and your spring fling will create a seasonal dinner full of fresh flavors, all designed for sharing and savoring together. You’ll create Lemony Thyme Chicken Pot Pie, Glazed Parsnips, Spring Green Sald with Herb Vinaigrette, and Carrot Cake.
Included in this class:
<ul><li>Cooking demonstration and hands-on learning experience.</li><li>Instruction from an experienced, top-notch instructor.</li><li>Recipes to take home.</li><li>At the end of each class, the opportunity to enjoy the food you created.</li></ul>
This is an adults-only course. If you would like to bring an adult beverage to class, please feel free.
Pre-registration is required. Registration closes 24 hours prior to class. Minimum of 6 people required for class to take place. Please Note: Powisset is NOT a nut-free or gluten-free kitchen.

Cancellation Policy: In the event The Trustees cancels a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify registrants by email and issue a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To cancel a reservation, please contact Powisset Farm 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program.
