Sarah Bracey White is a poet, memoirist, essayist, playwright, and stage actor. She teaches writing to children and adults and is a sought-after motivational speaker. Her memoir Primary Lessons was the basis of Transcendence, a dramatic musical in which Sarah made her stage debut at Peekskill’s Paramount Theater in the starring role as herself. Her other published works include The Wanderlust: A Folk Tale; Feelings Brought to Surface, a poetry anthology and several plays. Her essays are frequently anthologized, most recently in Mothers, Martyrs and Jezebels, a feminist anthology from Black Lawrence Press. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Ossining’s Westchester Collaborative Theater.
