Sleepy Hollow High School

The Calidore String Quartet is recognized as one of the world’s foremost interpreters of a vast repertory, building on more than a decade of performances and residencies in the world’s most esteemed venues and festivals. The quartet’s members are: Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violins; Jeremy Berry, viola and Estelle Choi, cello. Their program is: Haydn – String Quartet No. 64 in D Major, Op. 76, No. 5, Hob. III:79, Shostakovich – String Quartet No. 8 in C minor, op.110, Beethoven – String Quartet, No. 14 in C- Sharp minor, Op.131. This concert is sponsored, in part, by the Raymond Han and Paul Kellogg Foundation.

Tsai appears as a recipient of the Friends of Music Concerts Performance Award and in 2023 won the Susan Wadsworth International Auditions in New York. Polera’s mastery of the complete cello-piano repertory is widely known. One of America’s foremost violinists, Jackiw (pronounced jak-eef’) captivates audiences with playing that combines poetry and purity with an impeccable technique. Ahfat has been described as an artist that “leaves no question about his riveting presentation and technical finesse.” (Seattle Times) Their program will include: Arvo Pärt: Fratres, Handel: Affetuoso and Allegro from Sonata in D Major, HWV 371, Prokofiev: Violin Sonata No. 2 in D Major, Op. 94a, Conrad Tao: All I had forgotten or tried to, Brahms: Sonata No. 3 in d minor, Op. 108.
