I was born in Russia in 1940. World War II was in high gear. Countless number of people were in an "exodus"
mode, looking for refuge. My family and I and thousands of other Armenians were part of the groups on the run.
Following the conclusion of WWII, the governments in charge placed us in a relocation camp near Stuttgart,
Germany. We spent four years here. And then it happened...our journey to the United States of America.
Thirteen days on a huge ship in stormy weather...whew! The ship docks in New York. After being
processed and cleared we were placed in Brockton, Mass. We lived there for six months and then
moved to California...East Los Angeles.
I attended schools in the LAUSD. I earned my AA certificate and degrees from ELA Jr. College and Cal State
University, LA. I hold a MA in El. Ed., a Community College Credential, an Adult Ed. Credential, and a BA in
Elementary Education(Teaching credential K-8).
I've had teaching and administrative experiences with LAUSD.....retiring after over 30 years with the district.
I have had many pleasant experiences in my life and am very thankful. I would like share them with others At my age ,I just turned 80, I feel I can still put smiles on peoples' faces.
