The performance is based on the script Dickens himself used during his public reading tours. This timeless story is vividly brought to life by actor and dramatic storyteller Michael Langlois, in full Victorian costume. The reading seamlessly blends storytelling and theatre to create a captivating, one-of-a-kind show perfect for the holidays. Blithewold’s elegantly decorated Dining Room is the perfect setting to relax and be transported to Dickinsonian England, as you enjoy a new presentation of this classic holiday story.

A Christmas Carol Theatrical Reading by Michael Langlois

Enjoy a glimpse of what it was like to be a guest of the Van Wickle family during the holidays! Kick off the new year or end the holiday season with a delectable plated brunch served in Blithewold’s beautifully decorated Dining Room. Featuring live jazz music from Chelley Knight’s Quartet and a signature drink. The price for the luncheon includes admission to the Manor and Grounds, so be sure to leave time for touring!

We have limited seating at this time to 9 tables per seating, 4 maximum per table. Only parties of 4 or less will be accepted.
We cannot accommodate dietary restrictions or food allergies at the Jazz Brunches.

Join us on the last Tuesday of each month, from March through May, for fun (and educational) hands-on learning at Blithewold! This year we will offer programs in science, history, and art. Each month, we explore intriguing topics in the arts, history, horticulture, environmental science, and climate change.
Indoor and outdoor learning experiences complete our curriculum, which aligns with RI, MA, and CT state standards. Between sessions, there is plenty of time to enjoy a nice picnic or run out some energy on the Great Lawn. Check our website for more information on our monthly themes and activities.
This is a drop-off program designed for Ages 8 – 13. An adult chaperone is required to remain on the Property for security.
Students are to check in at the Visitor Center, and one adult chaperone must remain on the property until pickup. Please bring a lunch, a refillable water bottle, and dress for the weather, as we often take our lessons outside! Lunch will be enjoyed from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Adult chaperones and younger siblings are welcome to picnic on the Grounds with the students.
