- Ossining-Croton-On-Hudson, NY
Catherine Borgia has dedicated herself to the Town of Ossining through her many volunteer activities. Not surprisingly, she was named Junior League of Northern Westchester Volunteer of the Year in 1999 and Family Ties Mother of the Year in 2008.
Catherine Borgia and her husband Craig Johl moved to Ossining in 1991 and live here with their two children, who attend Ossining public schools.
"We came to Ossining because of the scenic beauty and deep spirit of community involvement that we saw. We couldn’t imagine a better place to raise our children," she said.
Catherine fit right into that spirit of community, becoming a vital force as a volunteer. Catherine’s community involvement started early and runs deep, earning her the Junior League of Northern Westchester Volunteer of the Year award in 1999 and Family Ties’ Mother of the Year in 2008.
Many Ossining organizations have benefited from Catherine’s participation, including:
The Junior League, Girl Scouts, Ossining Schools PTA and PTA Council, Ossining Food Pantry, Ossining Open Door, Ossining MATTERS, Ossining-Briarcliff Coalition Against Domestic Violence, St. Augustine’s Church, Ossining Children’s Center, and the Ossining Public Library.
Catherine Borgia was elected Ossining Town Supervisor in 2008, where she has been successful in reducing the cost of government through sharing of services.
Prior to this position she served for 4 years as Village Trustee and 7 years as Chief of Staff for Assemblywoman Sandy Galef.
She has 15 years’ experience in Marketing and Public Relations. Borgia earned her BA from Binghamton University (SUNY) and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
