Bring your children for hands-on career exploration activities designed to spark curiosity and imagination, while you learn about resources and strategies to save for your child’s future. This event is part of the <a href="https://www.ywca-ens.org/savings-for-success" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Savings for Success program</a> and is a great opportunity for families to connect, engage, and discover the tools to support long-term financial growth.
"What if my child is already enrolled in the Savings for Success program?" Children who attend that are already enrolled will receive a $25 incentive in their accounts! If your child is not yet enrolled, we will give you the resources you need during the event!

YWCA Evanston/North Shore is an approved ICDVP training site for the 40-hour domestic violence training, which provides a solid base of knowledge for anyone working with individuals affected by domestic violence. The training covers all ICDVP required topics using a trauma-informed lens, including:

Our trainers all have years of experience, both as educators and as service providers. Where beneficial, we bring in guest trainers with more in-depth knowledge on specific topics. Hear a powerful, youth-led conversation about teen dating violence prevention that centers the voices that matter most...young people themselves!
We'll begin with an eye-opening presentation exploring teen dating violence dynamics and evidence-based prevention strategies that work and keep the youth safe. Afterwards, hear directly from local youth as they share real talk about their experiences, perspectives, and vision for building healthier relationships.

This is an interactive space where youth lead the conversation and everyone learns together. Whether you're a teen, parent, educator, or community member, your presence matters in creating safer spaces for young people.

This workshop is for parents, caregivers, and family members who want to deepen their knowledge about healthy sexual development, sexual identity, and relationships and how to begin discussions on these topics in age-appropriate ways with their children . Participate in a little bit of sex ed while your students receive it in school!

Led by Hallie Cohen, Senior Training and Prevention Coordinator for YWCA Evanston/North Shore and sex education consultant to D65, this workshop will be an engaging, interactive, and discussion-based. During this workshop, participants will:

<ul><li>Explain how their own experience with sexuality education impacts how and what they share with their own children;</li><li>Identify the most important values and messages they would like to pass on to their children about sexuality;</li><li>Gain an understanding of healthy sexual development for their child’s age range;</li><li>Identify teachable moments during which they can share information and family values regarding sexuality.</li></ul>

This workshop will be held twice, with the focus being on different age groups. If you are unable to attend the date with the ideal focus for you, feel free to register for the other date. You will surely get a lot out of it, and some of the material will be the same.

During the Teen Getaway, kids from all over the country visited Chicago to see the sights and make friends with other kids who are undergoing cancer treatment.
