Centreville Morning Report

What you need to know in Centreville today.

1. Watch out for con artists. The Fairfax County Police Department warns that criminals may use the upcoming ten-year anniversary of 9/11 to exploit people. Keep your eyes open for "phishing" emails that solicit money, credit card details or other personal information, police say, even if it appears to have come from a reputable organization. Sometimes crooks use the names and/or logos of those organizations to try and gain sensitive information about an individual.

The tournament will take place at Westfields Golf Club and feature a $10,000 hole-in-one competition, a pre-tournament putting contest, a silent auction and raffle. Proceeds will help fund an artificial turf field in the CVHS stadium. For more information contact Geordie Bigus at geordie.bigus@fcps.edu or visit cvhsgolf.org

3.will host its twelfth annual family bbq and silent auction tonight from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be food, entertainment and a silent auction. For more information visit ptsa.westfieldhs.org
