Centreville Woman Dies In Christmas Day Fire: Fairfax Officials
A woman died early Christmas day in a Centreville townhome fire before firefighters could reach her, Fairfax County Fire officials said.
CENTREVILLE, VA — A woman died early Christmas day in a Centreville townhome fire, according to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
Smoke and flames were shooting out of the upstairs bedroom window of the townhome in the 14100 block of Red River Drive when firefighters arrived, a FCFRD video below shows.
One of the residents of the townhome was still inside on the second floor when rescuers arrived, NBC Washington reported, and was later declared dead.

Neighbors said the victim was in her 50s and relatives who had lived with the woman moved out several months ago.
Fire investigators have not said what caused the fire.
