Chesterbrook Academy® Preschool Donates to Local Family Shelter

Campers collected various infant baby supplies and blankets

Summer campers at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Centreville recently donated dozens of items to the Katherine Hanley Family Shelter, a nonprofit organization that provides housing to local community members in need. For the past two weeks, campers collected diapers, wipes, diaper cream, new infant and toddler clothes, bibs, and blankets to benefit families supported by the organization. After the collection, campers loaded the donations onto the bus for delivery to the shelter.

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond, working with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
