Circus Comes to Town, the Sound of Music and the International Festival
Fun in Fairfax County this weekend.

The Coleman Brothers Circus is in town! Go see the ponies, the tigers and the zebras under the big tent at Bull Run Regional Park. The first shows are at 4:30 and 7 p.m. on Aug. 30. The shows run through Monday.
Good Shepherd Catholic Church hosts its second 5K run on Saturday. The will also be a 1K youth run. Online registration ends at noon Friday. Limited registration will also be available the morning of the race from 6:45-7:45 a.m. $25, with discount prices for children and for 1K participants. The run begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy. Alexandria. The event is a kickoff to the International Festival planned for Monday.
Sing-a-Long ‘Sound of Music’ returns to the Wolf Trap on Saturday. The popular tradition gets the crowd involved with fun props to use during the showing and a costume contest. From $20. 7:15 p.m. at the Filene Center, 1645 Trap Road, Vienna. Also this weekend: STS9 & Umphrey’s McGee performs Sunday.
