Cox Farms Preview Week, The Sixth Generation and Taste of Tyson: All This Weekend

The official start for the Cox Farms Fall Festival isn’t here yet, but that shouldn’t stop you. The Preview Weekend includes all the hayrides, giant slides, swings, animals and live music you’d expect, along with apples, cider and pumpkins. $14. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 15621 Braddock Road, Centreville.
There will be rocking ‘60s music at the Workhouse Arts Center. The Sixth Generation will be performing classic tunes outdoors at the Rizer Pavilion, weather permitting. Seating is available, but you can also bring your own. $10-$15. 8 p.m. Friday at 9601 Ox Road, Lorton.

Supporters of programs at the Wolf Trap can take the stage this weekend. The popular arts and entertainment venue will host the 2013 Wolf Trap Ball fundraiser on the stage at the Filene Center. $500. 7 p.m. Saturday at 1551 Trap Road, Vienna.
The music of Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen combine for a unique event at Jammin Java. The venue hosts Dream Discs, with live performances of every song from Morrison’s “Moondance” and Springsteen’s “The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle.” Some of D.C.’s top talent will tackle hits like “Into the Mystic,” “Moondance” and more. $25. Doors open at 7 p.m. Friday at 227 Maple Avenue E., Vienna.
