CENTREVILLE, VA — Fairfax County Police identified the victim in Monday night's fatal shooting in Centreville as 37-year-old Amaru Amin Shabazz of Leesburg, according to a department blog post.

Police responded around 9:58 p.m. for the report of a man being shot at a home in the 14800 block of Bodley Square in Centreville. Officers found Shabazz inside the house suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units responded to the scene, but medics declared Shabazz as deceased.

Through their investigation, police determined that Shabazz was visiting the home, when he got into an argument that led to the fatal shooting. Police found multiple guns at the scene of the shooting and detectives determined that numerous rounds had been fired inside the home. Police believe that this was not a random act. A witness told police they saw a man running from the home after the gunshots were fired.
