Firefighters Extinguish Townhouse Fire
Monday morning fire started on an outdoor deck on Prairie Willow Way.
The 911 call came in at 8:40 a.m. Monday morning. Just 14 minutes later, Fairfax County firefighters had already jumped into their trucks, driven to the scene, and extinguished the fire at a townhouse on Prairie Willow Way in Centreville.
The fire started on the second-floor back deck of the home, Edward Brinkley, a battalion chief with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department said. Fire investigators have not yet determined the reason for the fire, nor had they completed an estimate of the damages, he said while at the scene Monday morning. However, they believe the damage was relatively minor, he said.
Fire stations 17 Centreville, 38 West Centerville, 40 Fairfax Center, and 21 Fair Oaks responded to the call.
