The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Temperatures are forecasted for the upper 90s to lower 100s.
Heat index values (the perceived temperature) will rise to 105 to 109 degrees.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity may lead to heat illnesses, especially among sensitive groups like the elderly. If you suspect that someone has heat stroke, call 911.
