K-9 Officer's Partner Deployed During Fairfax Man's Arrest For Robbery
Fairfax County K-9 officer deployed his partner during the arrest of a 31-year-old Fairfax man suspected of robbing a Centreville Sunoco.

CENTREVILLE, VA — A K-9 officer with the Fairfax County Police Department deployed his partner to help arrest a 31-year-old Fairfax man suspected of robbing a Centreville gas station on Thursday night, according to a police release.
Officers responded around 7:02 p.m., for the report of a commercial robbery at the Sunoco at 14709 Lee Highway. An investigation determined that a man had entered the gas station store, proceeded behind the counter, and demanded the clerk open the register. The man implied that he had a firearm, according to police. He then fled the area on foot with money taken from the store.
A K-9 officer who had responded to the scene noticed a man talking to a Fairfax Connector bus driver in the commuter lot across the street from the Sunoco. The man then got on the bus, which drove away.

Once officers obtained a description of the suspect, they determined that it matched that of the man who had boarded the bus. After the K-9 officer provided the number of the bus, the responding officers proceeded to the 6400 block of Old Centreville Road, where they confronted the suspect. The man refused to follow their commands. He then made a move like he was drawing a firearm from his waistband and ran off.
The K-9 officer deployed his partner, which allowed police to then take Clint Cook of Fairfax into custody. Cook had the money stolen from the Sunoco in his possession when he was arrested, according to police.
