Lord of Life Teens Travel to New Orleans for Faith Gathering

Thousands attended the July event in New Orleans.

Forty-three young people and 11 adults from Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Clifton and Fairfax recently traveled to New Orleans to join about 35,000 other Lutheran teens from around the world for the 2012 ELCA Triennial Youth Gathering.

The youth group has worked over the last year to raise funds for the trip by hosting a New Orleans dinner and auction, a golf tournament, bake sales and pancake breakfasts.

"The Gathering served as a wonderful opportunity for our youth to share the Gospel and Christ’s love with others from around the globe," said Gary James, the church's administrator, in a news release.
