Stingrays Hope to Make a Splash in Championship Season

Long-time members of the Sequoia Farms Stingrays, Chris O’Brien, Brooke Feichtl, John Bounds, Amanda Karstetter and Will Steinhilber swam in their last meet at their home pool. This was also the last meet of the regular season and the Stingrays finished it with style as they defeated the Chantilly National team.

For many years, each person in this group has been an important part of the Sequoia team, which is celebrating its 20^th year in existence. It has been a record year for of all things, team records and these swimmers have been part of the reason. Congratulations and thank you to Chris, Brooke, John, Amanda (who has completed her first year at UVA) and Will.

Sequoia Farms ends the regular season with 3 wins / 2 losses and enters the championship season with high hopes for great individual performances. The Colonial League will hold its annual Divisional Meets around Northern Virginia this Saturday, with its All Star Meet being held the following weekend.

This week, Sequoia was able to take advantage of a Chantilly National team hampered by the lack of any home meets this season. Leading for the entire meet, the following swimmers ensured the Stingrays’ succes, with first place individual finishes:
