Veterans Day Greetings From Iraq
Centreville High School students get special messages from overseas.
This morning, students started Veterans Day with special greetings from CVHS parents stationed overseas.
One of the videos that was shown on Tuesday featured Col. John Lindsay, who is currently stationed at a base in Iraq about 100 miles west of Baghdad. Lindsay's son Ian is a senior and his daughter Emma is a freshman at the school. His other son Kevin is in the seventh grade at Liberty Middle School. Lindsay has served in the military for the last 24 years.
Lindsay described his life in Iraq, where there hasn't been any rain for the last four months: "I sleep in a small trailer and eat in a mess hall about the size of your cafeteria. We work seven days a week, usually from about six o clock in the morning until well into the night."

Lindsay's video was put together by DVIDS, information provided by the military and contractors. His video voiced a patriotic theme.
"The best part about being in the army is the opportunity to serve with great young people from around the country. Our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, most of whom are only a few years older than you, are truly America's best," he said.
