Westfield Assistant Principal Earns Promotion at South Lakes

assistant principal Kim Retzer has a new job lined up for next year: principal at South Lakes High School in Reston. 

Retzer, 40, will replace South Lakes' current principal, Bruce Butler. She is a 1989 graduate of South Lakes. She holds an undergraduate degree from George Mason University, and graduate degrees from GMU and University of Virginia. As a teacher, she specialized in special education.

Before working at Westfield during the 2011-2012 school year, Retzer spent 13 years at South Lakes.
