Wolf Pushes for More Representation on MWAA Board

Congressman Wolf says that Virginia should have more representation since both airports and a toll road are in VA.

Congressman Frank Wolf, (R-10th district), is pushing for more representation for Virginia on the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) board.

Wolf, who represents part of Centreville, says that Virginia should get nine seats instead of the current four, but MWWA board of directors Chairman Charles Snelling opposed Wolf’s legislation at Wednesday’s board meeting, .

If Virginia received the four additional members, the state would have a majority vote. Fairfax County and other Virginia taxpayers would end up paying more for the Dulles Corridor project, since 75 percent of the funding comes from Dulles Toll Road, according to Daniel Scandling, a spokesperson for Wolf.
