As the new editor of Chantilly Patch, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to our readers
Some of you may already be acquainted with me. As the editor of Centreville Patch for the last two years, I'm often in the area, reporting on stories. Moving forward, I will continue to edit Centreville Patch in addition to Chantilly Patch.
While I'm not a Chantilly resident, my home in Centreville is only five minute's drive from there. Still, I'm going to need some help getting to know the ins and outs of the area.

Over the next few weeks I will introduce myself to as many people in the area as possible. In fact, on Monday I'll be working on my computer at the Greenbriar Starbucks from 10 a.m. to noon. Please feel free to stop by for a cup of coffee and a chat—or just to grab some Patch freebies (tote bag, anyone?).
Also, I want to make sure that everyone is aware of the many tools we have to offer on Patch.com. Some of the easy ways that you can use the site are to:

- Upload events on our community calendar. To post on the events page, in the middle of the home page, click the button that says "add an event." Simply click, fill out the necessary information and hit "post my event." No need to email and wait for the editor; we've made the process democratic.
- Blog. Anyone can post a blog, which should be signed with your real name, business name or nonprofit's name.
- Send a news tip or letter to the editor. My email is mary.stachyra@patch.com. You can also call me at 571-969-9840.
There are other ways you can be involved with Patch, and I will post some quick tutorials over the next few weeks about that.
I'd also like to extend an invitation to our readers to comment on this article. What type of articles and features have you enjoyed in the past? What things could Patch be doing better? What stories should we be working on?
