Chesterbrook Academy Donates 10,000 Soda Tabs to Ronald McDonald House

Students collected the soda can tabs, which will be recycled and exchanged for funds to benefit the nonprofit

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Roger Stover Drive in Fairfax recently presented a donation of more than 10,000 soda can tabs to the family of a child who has been fighting a heart disease on behalf of Ronald McDonald House Charities Charlottesville. Students worked together to hold a soda can tab drive over the past few weeks, and their donations will be recycled in exchange for funds that will help offset the organization’s expenses and benefit families staying at Ronald McDonald House. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of community and giving back to others.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Charlottesville is the only organization that provides a temporary home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving treatment for a serious illness or injury in Charlottesville. In an effort to lessen the burden, reduce stress, keep the family intact and enhance the quality of life for these families, the organization provides affordable housing in a caring home-like atmosphere.
