Virginia Republican Party delegates Saturday officially nominated Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as their candidate for Governor at its state convention in Richmond. E.W. Jackson was nominated as Lt. Governor and Sen. Mark Obenshain as Attorney General.
How did Northern Virginians fare in the lieutenant governor balloting? Former state Sen. Jeannemarie Devolites Davis of Fairfax County came in sixth on the first ballot and didn't make the second ballot. Northern Virginia businessman Pete Snyder won 30.6 percent on the third ballot. He eventually withdrew his candidacy and threw his support behind Jackson.

The convention was held at the Richmond Coliseum on Friday, May 17 and Sat. May 18, and was attended by thousands.
