A family member reported the shooting at 3:25 p.m., saying that the young boy had a gunshot wound in his head.
"The victim sustained severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead," Perok said. "At this time, it appears this is an accidental shooting and that the injury was self-inflected. The scene appears to be isolated to a vehicle parked on the street in the area above."
