Falling Tree Kills Locust Dale Man in Construction Accident

Larry Nicholson, 54, was sawing a tree in the Hope Hill Crossing area in Woodbridge when it fell over, knocking him to the ground, where he struck his head and was fatally injured.

Locust Dale resident Larry Nicholson, 54, was killed this morning by a falling tree at a construction site in the area of Hope Hill Crossing in Woodbridge, police spokesperson Ericca Figueroa said.

Nicholson, one of the workers at the site, was sawing the tree when it fell over, knocking him to the ground.

"The victim struck his head when he fell to the ground and was pronounced dead at the scene," Figueroa said.

When police arrived at 8:05 a.m., they found no one else injured.
