Fairfax City and the region are under a wind advisory from Thursday night through Friday morning, forecasting wind of 20-30 m.p.h. with gusts up to 50 m.p.h., and expected to be at its highest late into the night. This could blow around unsecured objects, and could blow down tree limbs that can affect power lines.

Additionally, forecasts call for isolated instances of wind damage on Saturday afternoon and evening in the area.
