Rachna Sizemore Heizer Wins All 29 Precincts In Braddock Supervisor's Race

BURKE,VA — Supervisor-Elect Rachna Sizemore Heizer (D) won all 29 Braddock District precincts on her way to winning Tuesday's Special Election, according to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections.

A total of 15,850 ballots were cast in the three-way Braddock supervisor's race, which is 18 percent of the district's 90,197 registered voters.

Sizemore Heizer garnered 10,611 votes (66.99 percent), compared to the 4,738 (29.91 percent) that Repubican Kenneth P. "Ken" Balbuena received and the 451 votes (2.85 percent) raked in by Independent candidate Carey Chet Campbell.

Sizemore Heizer won the majority of the district's 29 precincts with about two-thirds of the vote. Balbuena nearly won his home precinct of North Springfield, but Sizemore Heizer received six more votes than her Republican challenger, 478 (48.9 percent) to 472 (48.36 percent).

Sizemore Heizer will be sworn in as the new Braddock District supervisor at 5 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 16, in a ceremony at the Fairfax County Government Center, which is located at 12000 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax.
