Enjoy the whimsical sights and delicious smells of wondrously festive gingerbread creations during the 39th Annual Gingerbread House Contest and Exhibit at George Washington’s Ferry Farm! See the contest-winning entries, cast a vote for People’s Choice, and play “iSpy Gingerbread.” This year’s theme is Cozy Winter Spaces.
Exhibit open during museum hours: Mon-Sat 10am-4pm; Sun 12-4pm.
Purchase tickets at the door: $6 adults $3 for students (ages 6-17) Free for children ages 5 &amp; under

Enjoy the lights and sights of Fredericksburg during the holiday season with the Fredericksburg Walking Club’s Holiday Walk! Come join us for our optional Group Walk at 3:30PM or walk at your own pace on the 5k- or 10k-routes (just start anytime between 3-5PM and finish by 8PM).
We will have a cookie checkpoint with goodies from 3:30-7PM!
Cost: $3 to Walk (or $4 to Walk with AVA Credit).

Our annual "Holiday Laps" is back! Come hit the road course in your own vehicle between 10am-2pm December 13th, 14th &amp; 20th!(Santa Photos FREE available 12/13 from 2-4pm)
10am, sign up in the registration office. It’s $20 for 3 paced laps around our 2 mile road course. Once you sign up and pay you’ll be given a colored card corresponding to the color group you’re in. Listen for the announcement for your group to line up and the pace car driven by NASCAR Driver Richard Storm will lead you onto and around the track. Passengers are allowed, seatbelts are required. Come have fun and benefit the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank!

Meet other dog lovers at the adoption center to take a trek on a local trail on Sundays at 8:45 a.m. Volunteers will match guests with the perfect furry partner for some fresh air and exercise. Guests will take the dogs to trails in their cars, and crates are available at ODHS.

Home for the Holidays—December 21
Spend the holiday with a furry friend by becoming a temporary foster with the Home for the Holidays program. It’s a great way to share the warmth of the season with a rescue dog looking to snuggle with a family, and the rewards will be plenty of wet kisses. This “mini vacation” for the dog starts by filling out a foster application on the ODHS website—or by coming to the facility to choose a dog. Dogs can be picked up at ODHS from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on December 21 and returned at 12 p.m. on January 3.
Supplies, including crates, toys, food, blankets and snacks, are provided by ODHS.
