Del. Surovell Receives a 100 Percent Rating from Educators Association

The Virginia Educators Association recognized Del. Scott Surovell this past week with a 100 percent rating for his 2012 voting record. Surovell is one of 22 legislators who received this top rating for the 2012 legislative session.

This is the third year in a row that Surovell has received this honor from the VEA. In 2010, he also received VEA’s Rookie of the Year Award and in 2011, he received VEA’s Solid As A Rock Award.

Kitt Boitnott, the president of the VEA, acknowledged Surovell’s hard work, saying in a press release, “The 2012 legislative session was very challenging for advocates of quality public education. Delegate Scott Surovell was with us 100% of the time as we fought for adequate funding for our public schools and opposed legislation that would have made it harder to recruit and retain quality teachers. It is my great pleasure to acknowledge Delegate Surovell’s support for public education.”
